Product Description

The Jed is a black hooded leather jacket with the compact shape of a bomber and the panelled details of a vintage biker jacket. Twin red stripes around each upper sleeve break up the all-black exterior, while quilted shoulders and a padded lower-back panel give the design a more substantial profile.

Its outer shell is made from genuine sheepskin leather with an approximate thickness of 1.0mm. This weight of sheepskin provides a balance between structure and flexibility, making the jacket practical for regular casual wear without the stiffness associated with considerably heavier hides.

The integrated leather hood is shaped with multiple stitched panels and adjusted using black drawcords with metal-finished ends. An original YKK metal zipper runs through the centre front, while two horizontal YKK-zip chest pockets provide secure storage. Small metal studs reinforce the ends of the pocket welts, and leather pull extensions make the zippers easier to handle.

Quilted horizontal channels run across the shoulders and lower back. The rear construction uses a central vertical seam, shaped side panels and tonal topstitching to maintain a defined bomber silhouette. Twin distressed-red leather bands wrap around the upper sleeves, adding contrast without oversized branding.

The cuffs and waistband are finished in black 2×2 rib knit. This knitted structure stretches comfortably and then returns toward its original shape, helping the sleeves sit securely at the wrists and drawing the jacket closer at the waist. A cotton-rich interior lining and internal storage pockets complete the everyday construction.

Wear the Jed with denim and boots for an understated casual look, or explore more styles through our men’s leather jacket collection. Additional monochrome designs are available in the black leather jacket collection.

Fit and Wearing Experience

The Jed has a regular bomber fit, finishing around the waist rather than extending below the hips. Its rib-knit waistband creates a closer lower edge, while the 1.0mm sheepskin remains flexible enough for normal everyday movement.

Select your usual size when wearing the jacket over a T-shirt or lightweight knit. If you intend to add a thick sweatshirt underneath, compare your measurements with the size chart before ordering. Made-to-measure sizing is also available.

Because real leather varies naturally, minor differences in grain, texture and colour depth can occur between jackets. These characteristics make each piece slightly individual and should not be mistaken for faults.

Weather and Use

This hooded leather bomber is suited to cool and transitional weather. The hood offers useful coverage in breezy conditions, but genuine sheepskin leather is not waterproof. Avoid prolonged exposure to rain and allow accidental moisture to dry naturally.

This is a fashion leather jacket. No certified impact armour or motorcycle safety certification has been specified, so it should not be treated as professional protective riding equipment.

Care Instructions

  • Remove dust with a clean, soft cloth after wear.

  • Blot moisture promptly without rubbing the leather.

  • Allow the jacket to air-dry away from radiators and direct sunlight.

  • Never machine wash, tumble dry, soak or iron the leather.

  • Keep oils, perfumes and household cleaning products away from the surface.

  • Test any leather conditioner on a concealed area before wider application.

  • Avoid overstretching the rib-knit cuffs and waistband.

  • Store the jacket on a broad hanger in a cool, ventilated place.

  • Use a professional leather-cleaning specialist for deep cleaning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Jed jacket made from real leather?

Yes. Its exterior is made from genuine sheepskin leather with an approximate thickness of 1.0mm.

Is the hood removable?

No detachable zipper, buttons or snaps are shown or specified for the hood. It is constructed as an integrated part of the jacket.

What does 2×2 rib knit mean?

A 2×2 rib alternates two raised knit columns with two recessed columns. It creates a flexible, elastic finish used here at the cuffs and waistband.

What pockets does the jacket have?

The front has two horizontal zippered chest pockets. Interior storage pockets provide additional space for smaller personal items.

Does it use a genuine YKK zipper?

Yes. The centre-front closure uses an original metal YKK zipper.

Is the jacket waterproof?

No. Genuine sheepskin leather is not waterproof. Limit exposure to rain, blot moisture promptly and allow the jacket to dry naturally.

Is it suitable for motorcycle protection?

The design has biker-inspired quilting and detailing, but no certified armour or safety rating has been specified. It should be considered a fashion leather jacket rather than certified protective equipment.
